So we are doing some renovations at home and currently my job is to pick a design which I think will be most suitable for the entire second floor. So far we have furniture only for one room (not counting the bathroom which will be renovated as well). And I picked a few things over the internet as stuff I want to buy as well as designs which are really eye-catching and modern, yet I believe can stand the test of time.
One of the first designs I really liked. It`s not conventional, yet I`m not known to like extremely outdated and conventional things. I`m only worried that the wardrobe will be too wide to fit in the room. However, this reminds me of the trend: buy only the bed and buy the rest of the stuff separately. But I believe in the bedroom this trend is not very suitable. It will be very hard, I believe, to find suitable furniture for the bed if we are to look for them one by one. It will definitely take time and effort and I`m pressed for time right now.
This is probably my favorite design. But again, I have some issues with the width of the wardrobe. It is too wide with an extra half a meter. I really don`t know how we are going to fix this problem.
This is a very neat and minimalistic version of what I envision. Here the white walls are more important than the very regular bed itself. Since my boyfriend don`t want white furniture, the walls will be white so they will make a decent contrast to the dark furniture we`ll be putting.
The bookshelf. This is for the cabinet room with computers. I have lots of books so I really need a place to put them. I have always been a fan of open shelving. Besides my desk right now is one that is made my the same tempered glass you can see on the picture so it will go well with it.
This is only a sample of what I want of my new desk. I am thinking of giving my own (it`s a big one) to my boyfriend. I really need another minimalistic thing other than the white walls which won`t be enough. The main theme will be black furniture and white walls. The accent will be interchangeable. I`m thinking of light green or purple. Red will also be an option. Pictures are very important. I am thinking of putting more picture on the walls. This will give the room the warmth it needs and leaving it not giving off the feeling of a hospital.
Okay, so picking out the right short couch is my work in progress. It definitely won`t be that one fore sure but I wanted to show what I envision the couch should be. Again minimalism contributes to the style because I believe that this is very modern and will continue to be such with years to come. After all, you don`t make renovations at home every day.
BONUS:
This is a plan for the right place of every piece of furniture once the first room is finished. We are still working on that room. I used a bit of feng shui in order to achieve a balanced rearrangement with what I have.
