Many of us have cars, some of us even several. We don`t really pay attention to how much our cars emit dangerous toxins into the air. One of the main reasons for global warming is not other than the carbon dioxide. Traffic in the big cities contributes for the worsening of the quality of the air we breathe every day which leads to many health problems. Using public transportation when you`re not in a hurry can make your life easier. One of the biggest benefits of that except saving a buck or two is the convenience of not having to drive yourself. For those of us who don`t like driving or don`t know how to, this is the safer option. Of course, it`s not only wine and roses in the public buses but it`s really preferable at times.
Another tip is that one should use less chemicals in one`s life. Overall, chemicals in any form are dangerous and lead to health problems like allergies and others. Using less make-up may be a good idea. Also using paraben-free products. Kids` shampoos and soaps are the best in that department. That`s probably the reason I like such soaps. Family friendly shampoos for all hair types are also a very good choice. When you use shampoo use the smallest possible amount of it. Also, when you use chemicals to clean (whatever it is you`re cleaning) do the same - don`t use much of the product. Needless to say, again you`re saving both money and the environment this way.
Using high energy class appliances such as the refrigerator, the cooker, the washing machine and the water heater can have a positive effect on your electricity bill. They should be at least class A. It`s an investment that will pay you off in the long run. Increasing the temperature a bit in your refrigerator is effective in order to save more and use less electricity. Also, decreasing the temperature of your water heater is another good habit to develop. Did you know that it is proven very cold water kills bacteria as effective as very hot water?
